Jen's Balloon Ride, Part 3

The yellow/red/orange balloon takes off first, then the purple/black one.
[Chris: Actually, Jen's and the purple/black took off at almost the same moment. But you can forgive Jen for being a little excited.]

Ours takes the longest to inflate, as we've got about 12 people in our basket. The basket is divided up into 5 compartments - one on each corner and one in the middle for the pilot. Eric divvies us up by compartment, and soon it's time to get in.

I scramble in, and am in a corner with another couple. Nice folks. They've had the certificate since 2003, and this was the first time that she'd scheduled it that it had actually worked. Her husband climbs in behind me, and then the burner lights. The heat is incredible - it's maybe 55 degrees out, and I'm really glad I'm only in a short-sleeved t-shirt. Damn. Now I know why they recommend that taller folks wear a hat!
