Front View A long time ago, I asked the internet community to help ID a little Captain America wax figure. The response was incredible...and eventually we knew all about the little blob of plastic.

Well, the time has come to try that again...this time with a bizzare Batman-ish bootleg from the wilds of Canada.

The figure at left is the one we're interested in.

He stands about seven inches tall, and is made of a hollow plastic/vnyl sort of material. He is cast in black, with the colors being painted on.

He's articulated at the shoulders and waist...and the joints move reasonably well.

The coloration (bright blue mask, gloves, boots and trunks combined with a yellow belt and black bodysuit) suggest the atwork of Jim Apro...perphaps offering a clue as to when this was made. Nothing would have prevented this from being made recently, though.

There is no Bat-Symbol on the chest, and no indication that there ever was one. Perhaps we are looking at a missing sticker.

The paint is rubbed off in places, but appears just to be normal wear on the toy.

Baby Got Back Look at those..ah...Pecs!
From the back, you can see that the joint between the waist and torso is cut stangely...not horizontal but rather at about a 15° angle.

There is no indication that a cape was ever attached directly to the body.

From the side, we can take a gander at Bat-Boot's amazing cleavage...er....huge pectoral muscles.

I'm sure they meant well, but the sculptors of this particular toy appear to have been on crack.

SO! What can YOU tell ME about this toy? If no one can help ID this for real, I'll open up the floor to funny suggestions. One way or another we'll make up a story to go with this guy.

So far I've only heard from a couple of people on this item...both reported an alternate "real" version that came out around the time of the debut of Batman:The Animated series. It was detailed in the more familar grey/black color scheme, and came with a cloth cape.

Unfortunately, this doesn't ring any bells for me...and I'm a BIG Batman fan.

Anyone else have a guess? Or a scan of the "real" toy?
