On Bike

Battery operated Super Batrangers! This concept Bootleg of the Batman franchise is really pretty neat. The figure comes boxed with a motorcycle (with working headlight!) and sidecar. That's a POTF2 Grand Moff Tarkin in the sidecar (above) for a size comparison.

There are two vehicles in this set, the Batranger shown here, and a red figure made to look like Spider-man.

Logo

The Batranger line doesn't copy any logos or art directly, but does sport this nifty patch-like emblem on the front and rear of the package. The pose is reminicent of early 1960's Batman Promo art, at least to me. Note the color scheme of the Batranger shown in the logo....the blue cape and grey bodysuit match the "standard" Batman colors of that era.

Ranger The figure itself has a more "Animalistic" Bat-Cowl than DCs version. The rounded ears give it the look of skinned Ewok headdress. Also notice the logo on the figure's chest. It's the Batranger head, surrounded by bat-wings, on a oval yellow field. Again, very close to the accepted Batman style, but with enough diffrences to make it noteworthy. The figure also has a "standard" looking utility-belt, except it has a big star on the buckle. (Perhaps Batranger is a Texan!) He also has a vinyl cape, cut in the traditional "Bat Fringe" at the bottom.

The figure is articulated at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees.

In Package

Here's a picture of the Batranger still in-package. The box is sturdy cardboard, and the figure and vehicles are stored in a vac-formed plastic tray.

Overall, this is a very keen bootleg! The figure is unique, nicely articulated, and in a scale to fit in with most 1980's figures, as well as the POTF2 line. The packaging is well done, and the toy's battery-operated features do work when you put the battery in.
