card header Hercules the Legendary Journeys...as seen on the Popular Television Series. That's what the backboard of these figures would have us believe they are. And the Card looks authentic. The logo and fonts have been lifted straight from the ToyBiz backer - the only thing missing is the ToyBiz logo itself.

Sure, the card is a bit smaller, but at a glance, the toys look authentic. For Series two the peg-hanger is the US J-Hook version instead of the half-circle Canadian style on series one

The card back is only slightly modified...the product listing for all the Hercules items released in the US appears identical to the Toybiz version. The UPC information has been removed, and a new child-warning area added. There is no stock number on Series Two figures.

Without any stock numbering to help out, we can only guess at the figure list for Series Two. I'm guessing that all five figures in the set had a chance:

The Xena II figure is not listed on the back, but I'd be suprized if she didn't get bootlegged as well.

Right now, I have a two figures from the set...Chain-Breaking Herc and the She-Demon.

Hercules

With Accessories As seen in the photo at right, the Bootleg Hercules comes with the same accessories as his ToyBiz cousin. The coloration seems to be accurate as well. What isn't accurate is the sticker on the front of his bubble. The sticker identifies him as

Mole-Man

Exploding Body

As seen in the close-up, below, Kevin Sorbo's likeness hasn't been preserved all that well. he suffers from the same dot-eyed blandness that plauges the Xena from Series one.

The other figure I have is the

She-Demon

With Accessories The She-Demon is also identified (via sticker) as the Mole-Man. My guess is that the bootlegger's scored an un-cut sheet of Mole-stickers from the ToyBiz factory, and just used them on all the figures. (There may also be variations of this line with the different names on the stickers.)

Again, the She-Demon has pretty accurate painting and detailing with respect to the ToyBiz original. The fun begins when you take a look at her head....

The two-piece head and hair combo has created a wacky looking figure! The same sort of "Ooops! My hair-piece is slipping!" look can be seen in the Z-Fighter bootlegs.
