Pocket Monster kit
As you may or may not know, Pokemon loosely translates as "Pocket Monster". Thus, the name of this bootleg ALMOST makes sense - "Pocket Monster Kit." Sounds like a cross between Frankenstein's Lab and Anime to me, but we'll go with it.

This is a BIG bootleg - the backer card measures a good foot and a half across, and about a foot down the side.

Blistered to the front are 19 mini-statues, all lifted from Nintendo's molds.

Left side of Card On the left we have a picture of Ash and Misty. Along the side is a chart showing the progression of Squirtle to Blastortise. As usual, no effort has been made to "disguise" these characters as anything other than Pokemon.

The figures on this side of the card include (roughly from left to right, top to bottom)

You should notice one thing right away - the colors on these toys are ALL WRONG. The human characters are pretty close, but they're pictured on the backboard as a paint guide. The more obscure pokemon, however, all got the rainbow treatment.

In particluar, take a look at Squirtle (now cross-bred with Barney the Dinosaur), Drag Queen Pikachu, and Green Meowth!

Barney/Squirtle Hybrid Drag Queen Pikachu Green Meowith

The picture of Pikachu on the backboard is just about in the center of the card.

The right side of the card has the standard image of Ash and Pikachu, a evolution guide for Charmander to Chariazrd down the side, and the child saftey warnings.

Figures on this half of the card are (left to right, top to bottom, skipping the ones in the middle already named)

Overall, this bootleg gives you a LOT of Pokemon - but since the paint is terrible, the colors all wrong, and the plastic chincy, this is more of a nightmare than a windfall for the pokemon trainer.

If anyone can translate the backboard's non-english text for me, I'd appreciate it! If you can, drop me a line at cjdoyle@bootlegtoys.com.
