The Thin LineThe Thin LineThe Thin LineThe Thin Line Pokemon Legal Notes

Recently, Nintendo (Or, rather, Nintendo's Laywers) sent a letter to sister bootleg site owner Joe Medrano demanding that he remove the Pokemon bootleg reviews from his site. If you'd like to read about it, Follow this link.

As of today (11/24/99) I have not been asked to remove any reviews from my site. After reading the letter sent to Joe, however, I want to make my stance on Pokemon bootlegs very clear.

I am not advocating the sale of these bootlegs, nor am I in any way involved with their sale or distribution.

The following reviews are presented to make you, the consumer, more aware of the bootlegs that are out there - so you can make an informed decision when you're purchasing Pokemon toys.

As stated in my F.A.Q. and elsewhere, Bootleg Toys are dangerous! They are made without any sort of quality control or care or craftmanship. These are NOT toys you want to give to your kid to play with!

This goes for not just the Pokemon toys, but ALL bootlegs. Let's face it, if they weren't crap, I wouldn't bother reviewing them!

Finally, as we enter the Christmas season for 1999, Pokemon toys seem to be the hottest property out there. The last thing any parent would want to do is hand little Billy a "Prodigy Pet" when what he really wanted was a "Pikachu."

Think about it.

Thanks,
Chris Doyle
