Class of Bootleg Class 2 - Duplicated and Modifed
Class Notes: An odd use of original molds
Bootleg Source: Pokemon toys
Bootleg Rating: StarStarStarStar (Four out of five stars)
Sightings:California
Vintage:1999

This is one example of the popular "figure on a skateboard" bootleg. I've seen everyone from the X-Men to Barney the Dinosaur riding these little pull-back motorized boards.

Wheeee!

This one has Pikachu from Pokemon.

Skateboard

Pikachu is made from a hollow rubber mold, and squishes quite nicely when you mash him. He has black and red paint detailing, all very accurate to the show.

At left you can see a detail of the graphics on the board.

Notice the big "1999" on the tail and the odd text at the front of the board.

Detail of Text

As you can see, it says "Lucky" in english and some text that I don't have a translation for.

For a skateboard bootleg, Pikachu offers no real surprises. Still, it's a lightweight, fun little toy.
