On Card Power Rangers - One of the most lucrative properties that Bandai owns. And popular! The Power Rangers seem to go through a change every season, bringing in a new look, new weapons, and new Zords.

The first season of US shows, however, are the uniforms and characters most known to the US public. These were the "Holy Grail" toys of the Christmas 1994 season, and thus a popular topic for Bootlegging.

This leads us to the Mega Rangers - a concept bootleg of the Power Rangers that was still present as late as 1997.

The figures come blister-carded on cheap backers. The printing, as usual, is only on the front, with only lame logo graphics to look at. The text on the card reads:

6" Fully Poseable Action Figure With Accessories
Movable Arms, Legs, and Twisting Waist

Figure Closeup The enclosed figure follows the Power Ranger color scheme - except that instead of diamonds, the red and white highlights use another suit from the card deck - namely spades. And although the color scheme is close, the headgear is just a generic head with a medieval looking helmet.

The Bandai figures were notable for their 22 points of articulation - a great play feature. The Mega Ranger, however, only turns where the card says he should - the arms, legs, and waist. As a bonus, the neck will also swivel...I guess they added that after the card design was finished. ;)

The sticker on the figure's chest is of a Lion.

The figure comes with a belt and holster combo with a big red buckle, and two Colt-22 looking guns.

The Mega Warriors are almost identical to the Mighty Rangers - another case of Bootlegs copying themselves.
