Beauty-Fighters are a bootleg of Sailor Moon and the Sailor Scouts - a popular (at least, outside of the US at present) Anime-Style cartoon. This carded bootleg features mini-versions of all the first-season Sailor Scouts.
Featuring printing on one side only, the card has some neat new original art depicting Sailor Moon and a couple of other Scouts fliting about the "Beauty-Fighter" logo. Sailor Moon is pretty un-mistakeable with her "meatball head" hairdo and accurate costume coloration.
These little buggers are part of an all out war against beauty.
Here's a shot of the blister-carded figures:
The poses are very similar to a line of 5" figures that I received from Singapore, so I'm assuming that the molds are legit, although reduced.
Let's take a closer look at a couple of the mini-figures. When looking at the detail, please bear in mind that each figure is only about two inches tall.
In particular, note the minimalist approach to the eyes and lips. The nose is not clearly defined either, but this is true of most Anime and Sailor-Moon toys.
The painting detail on the figure is satisfactory, matching the real Sailor Moon's outfit.
For those of you who would notice such a thing (it was pointed out to me...honest!) Sailor Moon doesn't have any undergarments painted on. I think this was due to the small scale, as opposed to any...uh...other reasons.
She shares the same minimalist treatment of her facial features as all the other minis, but her eyes have been painted with a pronounced Jack Elam expression.
Otherwise, the painting on the figure is fairly good, matching the color scheme of the real SJ.
She's also lacking in the undergarment department, and you should be ashamed of yourself for even asking. ;)
