I've said it before, I'll probably say it again. I love motorcycle bootlegs. There's just something about seeing Spiderman, or some other character that has no reason to be on a bike, riding across the kitchen floor that makes me smile.

Card Art

On that note, let's all give a warm welcome to Sailorbike!

As you can see from the packaged example at right, Sailorbike is based on the Sailor Moon line....with Sailor Moon herself straddlin' that big ole' bike.

The package is printed on one side only, and is about 7" by 6". The text identifies Sailorbike as item number 7888B, made in China, and for ages 3 and up.

As far as features go, the packaging also exclaims that Sailorbike is

I love how Sailor Moon is just an add on to the real focus of this toy...the motorcycle!
If the figure and the line name weren't enough to identify this as springing from the Sailor Moon concept, the header art should clinch things:

Header Card

Notice the cartoon-ish versions of Sailor Moon (on the left) and some other Sailor Scout (Chibimoon? She's got pink hair...). Heh. A cartoon of a cartoon.

Finally, let's take a closer look at the toy itself.

Close Up of the Bike

You can't see it from this angle, but the "headlight" area of Sailorbike is the same grid pattern shown on the header card. The rest of the stickers are also accurately displayed on the package art. The front wheel turns, and connected to the handlebars that the figure holds.

The Sailor Moon figure is not too bad. It's articulated at the shoulders only, and in a really rude pose for anything OTHER than riding Sailorbike. Note that the bootleggers decided to paint underwear on her...a step most bootlegs of Sailor Moon lack!

Overall this is a fun little bootleg. I just wish I had a pink version of Sailorbike as shown on the package art!
