Class of Bootleg Class 1 - Exact Duplicate
Class Notes: Blister is smaller than US version, Mexican(?) Package Dupe
Bootleg Source: Toy Biz Spiderman Animated Line
Bootleg Rating: Star (One out of five stars)
Sightings: Mexico, California
Vintage:Spring 1997

Spider Man Bootleg This is probably the least inspiring Bootleg in my collection. The packaging almost identically matches the real Spiderman Animated line, the toys are identical (if missing a few accessories), and the line offers no real reason to pick it up.

First, here's a picture of the real "Octo-Spidey" from Toy Biz's line:

Real Spider Man

Now, here's the Bootleg:

Spider Man Bootleg

As you can see, the Bootleg is lacking many of the accessories that came with the US version (most notably the octo-arms). The headset is there, but cast in silver instead of transparent red. The pin is there, although the painting lacks detail. The back of the pin is loose in the Bootleg packge.

An interesting Bootleg for Spidey-Completists, but otherwise an unremarkable toy.
