Logo More than just a copy of exisiting items, the Star King line is the most horrible, detestable, and downright FUN set of bootleg vehicles in existance.

As the text beneath the logo states, the Star King toys have the following features:

The 8 different sounds are from the same sound chip that brought us the "Revenger" toys and Keychains in the late 1980's. You remember- the bomb, laser, machine-gun, etc.

There are three vehicles in the set, and we'll review them one at a time.

Of note, the makers of this toy are very proud of themselves. The following text can be found on the back of the package:

Hello Modern Toys Industrial Mfy., Ltd.
MADE IN CHINA

You think they came up with these ships or something!

Hot Pink Millennium Falcon

Out of Package

This is the vehicle that got me interested in the Star King line. As the (POTF2) Grand Moff Tarkin's shock clearly shows, this is a hot (pearlized!) pink version of the infamous Millennium Falcon. With a Klingon Battlecruiser stuck on the back like some sort of demented spoiler.

The ship also sports dual cockpits, making it resemble the Galaxy Cops logo.

In Package

The lights and sounds do indeed work, and let me warn you....this toy is LOUD. Like having a walkman on and cranking it up all the way. I mean loud. Really. It was so shocking that I just wasted a whole paragraph on it.

The package arts shows different color transparent plastic over the lights, so variations(!) on this ship are certainly possible.

Enterprise-D

D- Disguise

Ok, at first glance, the ship above looks a lot like one of the robot/aliens from Disney's "Batteries Not Included". But....let me turn the photo over for you....

D- Clearly

.....It's the U.S.S. Enterprise-D!!!!

Enterprise-D Toy

In person, this toy looks a lot like the pictures on the box. The lights and sounds are just as loud as the Falcon's. The hull is painted in a eerie peralized blue.

Although it looks as if they might, the nacelles do not light up.

Enterprise-A

Enterprise A

This last vehicle in the Star King set at least had some cut-and-paste applied to it. The nacelles were removed and attached to the saucer-section (which is right-side up, unlike the D above), and what remained of the engineering section and pylons are stuck on the rear.

Parallax checks out the Enterprise-A Toy

To me, it looks a lot like a two year old got ahold of an Ertl Model Kit of the Enterprise!

Overall, this is a very silly line of bottlegs. But the quality is high, the packaging is sharp, and the lights and sounds are a nice (if excessive) touch.
