For starters, it would fit nicely into the Robotic/Transformer catagory, as it has ships that combine to form a larger robot. But better than that, it fits into the Star Trek catagory.
Becuase if you look closely at the two ships that create the Star Robotcraft you quickly see that they're modeled after Star Trek vehicles.
The two smaller ships have been identified as a "Federation Runabout" and a "Dune Spice Scout", but to me they're really not close enough to any ship to pigeonhole them.
At right you can see the toys as them come packaged. They are blistered to a flimsy piece of cardboard with printing on the front only.
There are two different color schemes available - one with the colors shown, one with the red and blue parts swapped. On the top-left hand side of the card, right under the pictures of the ships, you can see a small photo showing a photo of the real toys with the other color scheme.
Notice that the photo of the ships is part of a larger mosaic that features an arrow (proudly labeled with TRANSFORMABLE) pointing to the robot version of the toy.
The majority of the card is taken up with a "techno-backdrop" in grey. No images appear to have been copied from any other line of toys. There is the standard child-safety warning along the bottom left of the card.
The only instructions on how to transform the toy can be found along the bottom of the card, underneath the Klingon ship. As you can see, it consists of three pictures. Not really a lot of help.
Assuming you can get the transformation completed, included in the package are a variety of guns, swords, knives, and a big-ole-shield that can be placed in Robotcraft's hands. Just don't expect him to hold them very well...they're much to small for the holes in his hands.
The plastic used is pretty fragile, but the parts seem to fit togther well.
Anyway, if you're really careful, and lucky enough not to snap any of the brittle plastic in the process, you can join these two ships together to form a 6" robot....
It's interesting to note that the makers decided to spray-op the legs of the robot version, even though they aren't really visible in the package.
