Combat on Card This is another in a long line of Star Wars Concept bootlegs. The victims of this particular copy are, as usual, Darth Vader and the Millennium Falcon.

The Space Combat toy comes with three items blister carded on a single-sided backer:

  1. Darth Vader-ish Toy
  2. Millennium Falcon-ish Toy
  3. Watch
The backboard features original art of a space battle, with ships that vaugely resemble X-Wings fliting about. The logo is also a new piece of art, although it does sort of remind me of Wing Commander.

The watch is sort of non-impressive, and it doesn't seem to borrow any features from the Lucasfilm Triology. The other two items, however, deserve a closer look.

Vader Close-up

Vader-ish Figure

The head has been modified somewhat, and a paper breast-plate has been added, but this is still Vader.

Note the detailing on the figure's arms and torso - a direct copy from the Vader costume. The mold appears to be original, though. The art on the paper breast-plate is also new. It is printed the outside surface only, and wraps completely around the figure.

The figure is articulated at the shoulders, but nowhere else. He also comes with two small plastic guns and a sword...none of which will fit into the figure's hands.

Falcon Close-up

Millennium Falcon-ish Ship

This particular dual-cockpit Falcon design has cropped up several times in the past few years. Most notably, it's been the logo for the Galaxy Cops line and has been incarnated as a light-and-sound toy in the Star King line.

Here it appears as a small gold toy that can be used as a mini-squirt gun.

A sticker on the rear of the ship identifies it as "R2". Just what were they thinking??
