Galaxy Cop Logo

The 5" figures come in two "Flavors" - Vader and Stormtrooper. Both figures share a common mold for the base figure, the Vader molded in black, the Trooper in white. I'm unfamilar with the base figure's design - it isn't a Kenner mold, or any other action figure that I've run across. (If you can ID it, please let me know!) They each come packaged with two guns and a removeable helmet.
An interesting feature is that the helmets fit exactly over the figure's head. In most "Transforming" figures, the head of the base figure is designed to lower into the chest to allow for a tighter fit for the helmet. (Examples of this include Quick Change Superman (Superman Animated) and Transforming LaMont Cranston (Shadow))
Both are shipped on a "Galaxy Cop" blister card - both with the same stock number (No. 1889). The graphics on the card (front and back) are limited to the Galaxy cop logo and the same modified photo of the Kenner Millennium Falcon toy found on the larger packaging.

Here's a closer look at the two 5" offerings.

Packaging

The figures are placed on a vac-formed tray that fits sungly inside the blister. The helmets are packaged to the side of the figure. Interestingly, the helmets are placed under the inner tray, and are inserted into the packaging from a hole cut in the backboard which is then re-sealed with tape. (See photo)

5" Vaderish Figure

5 inch Galaxy Cop Vader
As noted above, the base figure for the Vader does not come from any recognizable mold. Molded in black, the figure is articulated at the neck, shoulders, elbows, waist, and knees, but lacks hip joints of any kind - he can kneel, but that's it. He also comes with a molded black plastic cape. The vader "helmet" actually covers the figure from head to waist, accurately detailing Lord Vader's uniform.

The mold for the helmet appears to have been taken from the POTF2 Vader figure.

Vader also comes with two guns set into the tray just below the helmet. The weapons differ from those of the Stormtrooper, and do not appear to be recognizable Kenner molds. Perhaps they were designed for whatever line the base figure once belonged to.

Animated Galaxy Cop

5" "Stormtrooper" Figure

5 Inch Galaxy Cop Stormtrooper
As noted above, the base figure for the Stormtrooper is the same mold as the Vader figure, except produced in white plastic. The figure is articulated at the neck, shoulders, elbows, waist, and hips, but lacks knee joints. The Stormtrooper "helmet" actually covers the figure from head to waist, accurately reproducing the trooper's uniform. The mold for the helmet appears to have been taken directly from the POTF2 figure. It does not, of course, have a cape like Vader - as a result, the figure's blister pack is slimmer than Vader's when viewed from the side.

The stormtrooper comes with two guns set into the tray just below the helmet. The weapons differ from those of Vader, and do not appear to be recognizable Kenner molds.

VARIATIONS!

As seen here, the Stormtrooper has two different head molds available.

Vader Variation

As seen here, the same head molds available on the Stormtrooper are also available on the Vader. A NEW third head has been found (at left), and has been reported on the Stormtrooper as well.
