Look at those wings!

You've seen this type of toy before. Six for a buck at any party supply store. Jiggle the disc until all four ball bearings are sitting in the holes in the cardboard insert. Whoopee.

But this party-prize is a bit cooler than most others...simply because it's a bootleg!

One look at the insert and you know they had "Star Wars" on the brain....that ship would be difficult to ID as anything besides an X-Wing.

But take a closer look at it....

Notice how the top-right/lower-left wings are....to put it gently...stunted? Stunted? Hell, they're wimpy half-wings! Even the guns are missing from them!

Not only that, but look at the lines towards the front of the ship. The ones BEHIND the ship make it appear to be moving forward. What the heck are these other lines doing?? They can't be "laser blasts" as one of them is coming from an engine!! AIIIEEEE!

And the rest of the perspective on the ship is just plain wrong! It looks like a model built by a blind monkey!

The end result is what I like to call the "Picasso X-Wing" or "M.C. Escher-ship". You art buffs know what I mean.

The text along the side of the ship reads "Space 22"...to think that there might be 21 other ships in this "fleet" makes my stomach roll....

There are at least four in the series...as defined by the different color "backer" they have.

Oooooh! The collllors...

For a cheapie little bootleg it's a lot of fun. Especially since the more you look at it, the more WRONG it becomes!
