Box Design Box Back Art This line of bootlegs has a lot in common with the Super Power line. Both have Superman, Batman and Spider-Man as the heroes, despite the fact that DC owns Superman and Batman, and Marvel holds the rights to Spider-Man. Power Hero, however, is a bit more upscale than Super Powers, due to a larger size and better package design.

The ten inch tall figures come twist-tied to an open faced box. At right you can see the Batman figure in package.

Like most bootlegs, all three figures in the line share identical packaging. To accomidate this, the back of the package (at right) features art that showcases all three heroes. The art wraps around both short-sides of the box as well. The artwork appears to be original, as opposed to having been lifted from a Clip-art book somewhere. The art is of decent quality, in any case. All three heroes are easily identified.

The Power-Hero logo (below) appears on the top, bottom, and front of the package; giving the bootleg shelf-appeal from any angle.

Batman Figure

The Batman figure shares a mold with the Batman Movie Bootleg. It is articulated at the shoulders and the tops of the figure's legs. It is cast in black plastic and has gold painted highlights on the belt and bat-logo. A light-cordoroy(!) cape with the traditional bat-fringe is attached under the headpiece.

The face of the Batman figure deserves a little attention. Note how the lips have been painted a bright red. It looks as if Batman has put on a heavy dose of lipstick just before going out to fight crime!

Superman

Superman

Superman's body is cast from the same mold as Batman, above. Since the Batman body is accurate, superman ends up with some odd detailing. The coloration of the figure is pretty accurate...red boots and trunks, a yellow belt. But due to the Bat-Gauntlets, Superman now has red gloves instead of his normal flesh-toned hands. Also Superman's belt normally lacks a red center to the buckle.

The Superman-Logo in particular is very sad. The bootlegger's have painted a minature S-Shield into the space allocated for the much smaller Bat-Emblem. (See Detail Below). The armor-like quality of the batsuit also give Superman's muscles a very robotic look. A very cheesy head attaches a red cordoroy cape to the figure's shoulders.

Like the Batman figure, Superman is articulated at the shoulders and the tops of his legs.

Spider-Man

Spider-Man

Compared to the Superman and Batman figures above, there just isn't a whole lot going on with the Spider-Man figure. It is cast from a different mold (thank goodness!) that appears to be carved just for the Spider-Man form. He is articulated at the neck, shoulders and waist.

Spider-man is cast in red plastic with appropriate blue coloration on the arms, sides of the chest, and legs. Black highlights have been added to show off the groves indented into the mold for Spidey's web designs. White paint is also used on the eyes on the mask.
