Logo Detail

A leather clad biker rides toward you. He's big. He's muscular. He's holding a big ole' shotgun.

He gets up right in your face and says....

"Youh clothes. Gib dem to me."

At this point you fall on your butt laughing. Why? Because this isn't Arnold as the Terminator...this is some moron as.....The Protector.

On Card

Ah, the Protector. One of those bootlegs that cashes in on the image a movie developed without acutally being the person or item in question.

The protector comes on a blister card, with the standard printing on one side only. The header art (shown above) is really something to behold, with a fairly well rendered image of Arnold astride a big ole' motorcycle.

The card identifies the toy as a Super Bike Play Set.

Now, I don't know about you, but "Play Set" and "Stand Alone Toy" mean two different things to me. And a stand alone toy is all you get inside the blister. And that bike doesn't look all that "Super" to me either. Hmmmm.

Looking at the toy itself, we find a nifty two piece assembly. The motorcycle is friction powered, but the front wheel does not turn from side to side. A one way ride is all you get with the Protector. The handlebars are cast in vac-metalized plastic, and they do turn. Weird, eh?

Easy Rider

But that's not as odd as the bright yellow rims on the wheels. We know the parts for the bike were NEAR a vac-metal machine at one point. It's odd that they didn't use it...

The smaller yelow wheel near The Protector's foot is one of two "training wheels" that keeps the bike upright when not moving.

Alh be bak

The Protector figure is removable, and looks even more like the Terminator than the card art does. He's articulated at the shoulders, and fits very well onto the motorcycle.

Sadly, his neck is not articulated, making sure that The Protector doesn't watch where he's going. How safe can this guy be? I mean, really!

Overall this is a pretty cool little bootleg. I'm fond of Motorcycle toys, and this bootleg doesn't disappoint in that department.

My only wish is that the makes had been even more blatant in their coping of the Terminator imagery. A half robotic version of Ah-nold would have ROCKED!
