At left we have yet another Total Justice bootleg. This time, there's no mistaking this for anything other than a knock-off....Kenner never released these figures as two-packs.
The card is still very similar to the legal version - just made about 3" wider to accomidate the enlarged bubble. The back of the card is taken from the Flash figure (detailed below, right)- with all the trademark and copyright information removed, of course.
It should also be noted that the packaging on these figures is very flimsy - even for a bootleg. The bubbles might as well have shipped from the knock-off factory crushed, as the slightest pressure will mangle them.
There are several versions of this two pack, each with a different mix of Total Justice Series one figures.
The bootleg stock number for this set is No: 2801 / 6 CK (see detail photo, right) - so we should expect six different mixes.
Reported so far are:
I wouldn't be shocked if the last two mixes didn't include a Batman/Robin combo. Why not cash in on the marketing that's out there?
The toys themselves are fairly accurate reproductions - although the chest logos have been left off on Batman, Robin, Green Lantern, and Flash. Only Darkseid and Aquaman escape this treatment, but they didn't have chest-logos to start with.
The accessories are another matter entirely. It appears that there is an almost random mix of figures and accessories - the bootleggers inserted whatever happened to be lying around into the trays.
For example, the Batman/Aquaman shown below comes with the missle from Aquaman's cannon, and that's it. Batman doesn't even have his cape.
The Aquaman/Flash set comes with the disc from Robin's gun. Darkseid/Robin comes with one of the spoilers from Flash's armor. It just makes no sense to me.
Overall, just another in the vast sea of Total Justice knock offs. I'm sure we'll see the figures and molds from this set popping up for a long time.
