Bootleg Rating: StarStar (Two out of Five Stars)

Blitzwing One of the coolest Transformers sets were the Tripple-Changers. They went from a robot form into two different vehicle modes. When I learned that there were bootlegs of these toys, I just had to get them! The one that I was able to aquire is a bootleg of Blitzwing. He changes from a robot to a tank and also into a jet.

The original Transformer version was cast in purple and tan, and the bootleg is in blue and tan. It is also smaller than the original version. (I dom't have one for comparision, so I'm sure exactly how much smaller.)

The package has a Transformers logo on the upper left corner, and photos of Blitzwing in various stages of transformation along the edge. In the upper right the package art from the original package is copied.

The Blitzwing Bootleg was packaged three different ways.

  1. In tank mode.
  2. In robot mode.
  3. In jet mode (Shown Here)
The text along the bottom of the card reads:

NO:88 - Suiting Above Five For Children - Made In China

The back of the card has the instruction sheet that came with the legal version reproduced in black-and-white.

Card Design Card Back

Overall, this is a so-so bootleg. The toy copied is very neat, though. And that helps some. But the packaging is uninspired and quality of the toy itself is only par.

Thanks to Zapgun for the info on packaging variaions!
