Serenity in LEGO

Serenity's shuttle craft are a vital part of the ship - and key locations in the TV series. There are two shuttles, externally identical, that lock into the side of the ship. When required, the shuttle slides out of the side of the hull on a landing platform, allowing for easy take-off and landing. Each shuttle has retractable wings.

In my version of things, I did my best to match what appeared on the screen. The following group of photos shows a shuttle docked, ready for departure, and...well...gone. The landing rack retracts into the side of the ship when a shuttle is docked, or when not in use.

Here's a closer look at the shuttle:

The wings sadly don't swing out on their own, but it's a very easy rebuild to have them in "flight mode". This photo doesn't really do the shuttle justice - it's very rounded in person. (Well, within reason, anyway.)

Finally, here's a shot showing the shuttle flying off for some fun, leaving Serenity to fend for herself. Click to view a really huge version of this photo.
