Episode 461

Read the comic here.

Savvy readers had already spotted this little plot tidbit - but the characters have to take time to realize it as well. And just wait until Luka finds out...

Luka doesn't think any time's passed, but Whiskey, Donut, and Scotch all have had time pass.

Ergo, Luka thinks Whiskey grabbed her when it was the time-space chilli that did it.

Or is there something I've missed?

But Whiskey and the gang actually DID
grab her, isn't it?

G -

I think you missed the big picture: if Donut hadn't "rescued" Luka, would she have disappeared in the first place?

I think I'll wait until Chris steps up and tells us what he's talking about, or we're going to have guessing games forever trying to figure it out.

Ah, c'mon, pointless speculation is what this comment section is for. :P

I will say this: 7:41 Anony did peg the central issue that will arise out of Luka's return. How that will play out? Well, you'll have to keep reading. ;)

***POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT***

Well I was going to say that since Luka mentioned that Whiskey grabbed her, it means that the Luka they pulled into strip 461 is not the Luka that was yanked from strip 378, but a Luka from some time in the future who has had some experiences happen between her departure from strip 378 and arrival at strip 461*, and who has yet to tell Donut, Whiskey, and Scotch her stories.

The big problem is I don't yet know for sure which direction Chris is going in, so if this just vaporized his storyline, I'm sorry in advance.

*For the clueless: It means she arrived at some other strip than 378 or 461 in her personal timeline, and thus means that her continuity is not contiguous with the already experienced events.

Ah, but Luka's line "I was just exploring with my Dad..." would tend to nix that particular twist, no?

From her standpoint, Luka was with her Dad, having a bad reaction from a pepper, when - Zang! - she's looking at Whiskey and Scotch in unfamilar surroundings. Given their history, of course she's going to immediately accuse him of yanking her around. ;)

I went looking for episodes around 378 and I think I'm getting a better picture now.

Hmm I do wonder though, if her burps got cured with that teleportation ...

Guys. I don't think you get it. Whiskey and Donut were the ones who made Luka disappear. If the chili made her disappear then she would have disappeared while she was in the housse.

Oh dear, this is just like something that would happen in Doctor Who!

This to me has to be a classic "Oh Crap" moment, where the characters realise what they've just done. Heck, I'm still recovering from excessive laughter after reading that! ;-D

My guess is that the following has happened:

1. Luka's last memory is Episode 378 is exploring with her dad.

2. The next person she sees is Whiskey.

3. Therefore, it is reasonable for her to assume that Whiskey grabbed her.

4. The Uh oh is because they've twigged that she won't recognise the new Donut or the new Brick House, and she hasn't a clue what they're on about with the rescue.

Either that or they've degenerated into Teletubbies.

I like the green fade for Scotch in the speech bubble.

Andy-

You STILL don't understand, the "Uh-Oh..." is because THEY Were the ones who made Luka disappear- Not the chili, and as such they've disturbed the space time continuem(that how you spell it?) or something, and they'll be set off course.

ray> I'm obviously too slow this week. Of course it is.

On the other hand, the space-time continuum is already very badly screwed due to Whiskey being two places at once - can't be too much more damage you can do ;)

I can see a heated argument between two people and a talking frog, and a woman and the computer in Donut's time machine that is going to have the computerized equivalent of a nervous breakdown just listening to it all.

Like someone else said, it might go HAL9000 on them.
