I have an acquaintance who does this, except not so anime-oriented. They just dress up as vikings and "battle" in the woods.
When I found this out, I cried a little on the inside. To give him some credit, he knew I wouldn't like it before he started talking about it.
^Sounds less like cosplayers and more like LARPers.
myself and nearly all my fellow 501st stormtroopers are quite meticulous about our personal hygiene.
Still, the crack about cosplayers being stinky is well-based in reality.
