Full Card Art Like most Pokemon bootlegs, Prodigy Pet has an enormous amount of variations associated with it. Packaging changes, different characters mixes, and color changes.

Well, this latest outcropping of Pets is no different.

Instead of the near exact dupliaction of Pokemon toys we've seen before, this particular knock-off heads out in an unexpected direction. The packaging is identical to the earlier Prodigy Pets, except for a small new edition we'll discuss in a moment.

A glance at the package at right will show you that the color are no longer even close. A red Pikachu? A purple Squirtle? A green Blastortise? What's going on?

Well, what's not imediately obvious is that the figures are now cast in transparent plastic with the normal paint spray-ops then applied. The result is some very odd looking toys.

Why did they do this? Is this just a batch of toys thrown together when they had some extra clear plastic lying around? Could be...but a new blurb on the backboard shows us that this was a premediated change at some level.

Card Blurb

Yes, this is the Miracle Collection. A "miracle" that the bootleggers haven't been taken to court yet, maybe.

Anyway, here's a closeup of the figurines for you to enjoy:

Detail of the figurines

Overall not a particullarly stunning bootleg. The tranparent plastic is an interesting idea, but it doesn't really add any special value to this, a single Pokemon bootleg in a vast sea of imatators.
