The hot toy of the Christmas 1999 season, Pokemon continues it's strangle hold on the toy market (and thus the bootleg market) into 2000.
At left, you'll see what appears to be one of the many legit offering from Nintendo. But you're really looking at a bootleg.
The backboard measures 11" x 7", and has the Pokemon logo un-altered right in the center. The card art is also full of copyrighted images of the Pokemon critters. The back of the card is plain cardboard, and that's one of the first clues that this isn't the real deal.
Another clue is the lack of copyright information - other than the child safety warning in the upper right, the backer is otherwise devoid of text.
There have been at least four differnt mixes of figures reported, each one contaning six 2-3" tall Pokemon figurines.
Each set has six different figures - and that makes for a LOT of Pokemons. Unlike the Prodigy Pet bootleg line that relies on the more recognizable characters, the Pokemon Class One isn't afraid to go for any mold they could steal.
In addition to the six PVCs, each Pokemon 6-Pack also comes with two trading card/stickers.
They have printing on the front and back, and have that annoying "prism foil" all over them.
The cards look to be boots or originals of the Topps Trading Cards that were released earlier. Foil ones were special editions.
