Just so you know, I had planned on dragging the reveal of the new Donut for another month or two. For a while I even considered leaving him wrapped and then killing him again (forcing another regeneration) without ever revealing what form he had taken this time.
So, considering what I might have put you readers through, I think you can forgive me for squeezing out one last cliffhanger before the full reveal.

I can tell by the look on Grinchley’s face that it’s probably the chocolate Donut.
But remember, Grinchely has only seen the young Donut, so the old donut would be just as much as of a shock. Timbits would actually be the least shock, and he was the one I was rooting for..
I’m afraid to hazard a guess. I’ve read far too many strips/episodes/pages/whatever-Doyle-calls-each-day’s-installments. Whatever I predict will likely be the WRONG one.
Though I will say that although I kinda liked the original (stale) Donut, the young one had a much better range of facial expressions.

*pulls out nerd glasses* Well, from much consideration, I beleive that the new Donut is the Stale! Donut. Not only did most of the posts want the Stale! Donut, but most kids at his age would not care for an older character in their presence, often resulting in much disbelief. That, and I want Stale! Donut…
i reckon, its not going to be ANY of them and we will have a new donut who’s completely different.

The stale Donut I personally like the best, because it’s the original form. I think that Doyle got an itty-bitty carried away with this character after his Thyme Lord powers regenerated his body into the younger body, in the sense of an always grumpy character. I don’t think that the “stale” Donut had it in him to be that bitter for so long.
The last complication to my theory is; If the attitude of the character in his old body was more liked, and the new version could morph into either the old version or three DIFFERENT versions in which we would not know the outcome of over-all attitude. And if he DOES end up in his old body (Which I think he will!) then who’s to say that he’ll keep his bitterness? But on the opposite end, who’s to say that he’ll LOSE it? All these questions are going to be answered next strip (For me, anyways).
