Best bet is just to hope this is some sort of subplot that that gets undone at some point. They(crew) have to watch out for the advent in december and anti frobot was never dealt with since no one knew it was him that caused the warp thing and stirrups is VERY suspicious in my book as the culpret for popping open the gate.
