III - The Empress

Divination:

The focus of this card is on Mothering, Welcoming abundance, Experiencing the senses, and Responding to nature

Author Commentary:

I've always had a thing for librarians - and this card portrays my favorite real-world incarnation; Jennifer England. She moves up from her previous Page of Cups card in the Classic deck to a card that talks a bit more about her character. The Mothering aspect comes into play when one considers that Jen works with children, but the remainder of the focus is on the sort of person I see when I look at Jen.

The background for this image was the second diorama built for the Brick Tarot project. As you can see in the image below it's better suited for a "landscape" view of things.

The set is pretty simple and most of the elements made it into the card's imagery. The "Empress" part of this should really show Jen supervising staff rather than having her shelve books herself, but, well, there's only so much backstory you can fit into a 3x5 card.

The nice thing about these sets is that I was creating some great ready-made locations for future Brick House adventures.
